MINDFULNESS-BASED COGNITIVE THERAPY

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive  Therapy (MBCT) is a clinically proven approach which integrates cognitive therapy principles and practice into a mindfulness framework. In MBCT training, clients are encouraged to adopt a nonjudgemental stance in their relationship to their thoughts and emotions, while decreasing the emphasis on altering or challenging their thoughts. MBCT  has been found to be highly effective at treating recurrent or treatment resistant depression. To learn more read, Mindfulness- Based Cognitive Therapy and the Prevention of Relapse in Depression, at the University of Oxford's Center for Suicide Research.
